Check out the website of this brilliant organization in New York City – The Partnership for Inner-City Education. I had the huge privilege of taking (almost) all of the pictures for this website redesign. I want to give a big thanks to everyone I worked with at The Partnership from the teachers to the fellows and the students who were all so welcoming and fun to work with. It is so wonderful to be able to use photography to promote the work of such an amazing organization. I’m sure many people deserve credit, but I definitely want to site Channing Ross who is responsible for their amazing new logo, the graphic design of the site, the image choices (out of thousands!) among dozens of other things I’m sure. How exciting to see days of hauling equipment to six schools around New York City turned into such an amazing website! Check out the pictures directly on their website but here is a glimpse of a few of my favorites.

This little boat provided the perfect activity for a portrait session! Not only did the kids have a great time but they were able to focus on something other than the camera thanks to that wonderful boat. I’m so glad we were able to fit this session in — just three weeks before my due date!

Meet Charlie. He is my new nephew. He is seen here with his big brother, Will. I was so happy I got to visit — Charlie was less than a week old when I met him. A week of snuggling with Charlie and playing with Will is pretty much the best thing on earth though I will admit I was exhausted when I got home!

Not only was this idea so much fun — going to the stadium, the clothes, the bats and gloves — it was also meaningful to Kimberly & Matt. They have both been playing ball for some time and still play on a softball team together. In fact, they had their engagement party in the stadium where they play. So, yet again… a few perfect props not only made for some fun posing but added meaning to the pictures as well. This definitely made me one happy photographer.

The light, the picnic, the trees, a super sweet couple — the perfect combination for a wonderful engagement session. This is such a great example of what a few well chosen ‘props’ can do for a shoot — I have to give all the credit to Kimberly for the ideas. It is so fun to have a wedding planner for a bride — her creativity not only helped to make the engagement shoot completely gorgeous for me to photograph but added so much fun to the shoot as well. Thanks Kimberly & Matt and I can’t wait for the wedding!

I’ll try to keep this brief but I have oh so many people to thank who made this shoot possible. First of all, Ashely Rhodes of Ashley Rhodes Events was absolutely amazing to work with. She was the incredible stylist for this shoot. Jules de Jesus of Dollface by Jules did make-up while Karen Hough was on hair. Their work, as always, was absolutely stunning. And of course, our models – Jennifer Herring is the model you see here and there is more to come with Alexa Sims. It goes without saying it couldn’t have been done without them! Sarah Kohut was my excellent assistant. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all these incredible people! This was such an amazing shoot because of all of you and I can’t wait to post more!!
