I met Avery last year – she was a student in my photography class for Savannah Christian Preparatory School’s art week. I knew that she was a dancer and as I have a special place in my heart for all the years I spent dancing I was super excited about photographing her dancing. I also love the idea of doing senior portraits outside of the box. Thanks Avery for being great to work with and easy to photograph — you are a beautiful dancer!
Katie is a good friend who actually assists me on occassion — I was so excited when she told me all her mom wanted for Christmas was portraits of her children who live all across the globe. I knew the session had to showcase both Katie’s gorgeous face and demeanor and Savannah’s historic charm. Katie is currently pursuing a fibers major at SCAD and you can purchase some of her work at The Wooden Sheep.

Natalie and Matt were married in August in Elk City, Oklahoma. As they live in Minnesota and I in Savannah, we took these portraits just a day before the wedding. Most parts of Oklahoma don’t boast the kinds of incredible trees you find here in Savannah but it is hard to beat these gorgeous fields and a sky that goes on forever. We were privileged to be able to take these engagement portraits on the land belonging to the family of Natalie’s childhood friends, Lisa and Shelly, which added to the already special experience. Thank you Natalie and Matt for putting up with the heat and wind and trecking through the prairie with me, and thanks to Shelly and Lisa for the golf cart that made the treck painless! Last but certainly not least Happy Birthday Natalie!
